Link That Image

Some webmasters are still learning what many already know. In this tutorial I’ll show those who do not already know how to make an image into a link. Very useful to know for many reasons. Especially when linking back to others who are linking to you.

The directions below relate to Lil’ Hangout, but you can replace the links and image name with the one you are linking to:

1.) Upload the button or banner to your site. Remember the path to the image
Code:

(ex: http://www.yourdomain.com/pathtoimage/image.gif)

2.) Use the following code for your page, replacing the text “yoursite.com/directory/” with your site address and directory you placed the graphic in:

Code:

<a href=”http://www.yoursite.com”><img scr=”http://www.yoursite.com/directory/yourimage.gif”></a>

If you prefer the link to open in a new window:

Code:

<a href=”http://www.yoursite.com” target=”_blank”><img scr=”http://www.yoursite.com/directory/yourimage.gif”></a>
